Why "How Many Times?" is the Only Question That Matters
When you're choosing a plastic surgeon, the office decor and a nice personality are great—but they won't help you in the operating room. What matters most is Procedural Density. That's a fancy way of saying: "How many times a year does this doctor do my specific surgery?"
Think of it like a professional athlete. You wouldn't want a soccer player trying to play quarterback. You want the person who plays the same position every single day. A true Specialist has developed the muscle memory to get the best results and handle any tiny surprises that might pop up during your procedure.
"A surgeon who does five different types of surgery every day is a generalist. A surgeon who does your specific surgery five times a week is an expert. Choose the expert."
The "100-Case" Rule
National studies show that for most popular surgeries, a doctor needs to perform at least 50 cases a year to stay sharp. But if you want the absolute best results, look for someone who performs 100 or more cases per year. These surgeons are at the top of their game and statistically have the lowest revision rates (fewer "do-overs").
Looking at the Photos
Don't just look at the "Before & After" photos on Instagram. Ask to see their full gallery. If they only have 10 or 20 photos for a surgery they've been doing for ten years, that's a red flag. A true specialist will have hundreds of photos showing all body types, skin tones, and ages. This shows they can get great results for your specific body type.
